Statement Of Purpose
I am applying to American College Dublin for a Diploma in Hotel Management. There are following reasons I selected this program,
Hotel industry is the most briskly developing industry not only in Pakistan but also in Europe. There are new Hotels establishing & so new opportunities are being made.
In Pakistan, generally, Graduates from overseas are always preferred & I hope Irish degrees will be regarded here as well as UK & US.
American College Dublin seems to be quite reputable College as I have some distant friends in Dublin & they told me that ACD is a good College.
My future goals after completing Diploma in Hospitality Mgt. From ACD is to join MBA in Hospitality Mgt. Program at any Irish or UK University. The Diploma will surely provide me a solid base for future degrees in Hospitality Industry. NAVEED KHAN. Applicant# Sept. 2003 intake.
................................................ Hotel Management courses are becoming quite popular in these days. The reasons are obvious - Traditional degrees like MA / BA have of no use now due to sluggish economy in our country. Ongoing slump in IT industry declines the importance & scope of IT degrees which were in high demand in previous years. Now there is need of technical graduates & hotel qualification is one option. Similar the situations in Pakistan. I have many friends who have done MA or BA & some even have degrees like MBA & BS/MS in computing but they are job less for quite a period. In these situations & after carefully reviewing the industry need of today, I am opting for Hospitality Industry Training. I am very hopeful that after getting some kind of qualification from abroad I will be open handedly welcome in Pakistan Hotel Industry. Govt. in Pakistan is putting much emphasis on developing of Tourism industry & newly opened chains of international standard Hotels in Pakistan is the live proof.
